Larry Schwartz and Pearl Sax are shown receiving the J. Edgar Hoover Memorial Award "for saving businesses, banks and consumers millions of dollars with their fraud-blocker publications and data bases -- and for their creation of fraud-proof new check payment systems that aid consumers, businesses and the nation's economy." Mr. Schwartz and Ms. Sax also developed the "Name and Address Verification System" (AVS) in use by all credit card companies.

Mr. Schwartz and Ms. Sax are shown receiving the award of honor from Chief Dennis Martin,
president of the National Association of Chiefs of Police, "for developing the safest checks
and the safest check system in the nation."
